A high-profile court case has begun in Pakistan against popular YouTuber
Saadur Rehman, better known as Ducky Bhai, and his wife
Aroob Jatoi, over the alleged promotion of illegal gambling-related platforms.
Rehman, who has more than 10 million subscribers on YouTube, and Jatoi, followed by
around 3 million users on Instagram, are accused of advertising several iGaming operators,
including 1xBet, as well as the binary options trading platform Binomo.
According to local media, the charges relate to the online promotion of betting and high-risk financial products, which are restricted or prohibited under Pakistani law.
Defendants deny wrongdoing
Both defendants pleaded not guilty at the opening hearing. The court has scheduled the
next session for 23 February.
