Alberta Welcomes Two New Regulated iGaming Operators

James Whitfield

Alberta's regulated online gambling market has expanded with the addition of two new operators, Casino Time and Vegas Club Casino, bringing the province's total to 29 licensed iGaming platforms operated by 19 companies, according to a report by Iredell Free News.

Casino Time entered the Alberta market following its earlier launch in Ontario in 2024, and it is among the few operators in the province authorized to offer online bingo. Vegas Club Casino, by contrast, is making its debut in the Canadian market with this launch and has stated plans to expand into Ontario in the future. Alberta's regulated online gambling market officially launched on July 13, 2026, when 22 platforms went live simultaneously; prior to that date, state-owned Play Alberta had remained the province's sole legal operator.

Several registered brands have yet to begin accepting bets within Alberta's regulated framework, including 888 Casino, Bet99, Betano, GGPoker, PointsBet Canada, River Cree iGaming, ToonieBet, and five Super Group brands, including Betway. The continued addition of new operators alongside a pipeline of registered but not-yet-live brands suggests Alberta's regulated market is still in an active growth phase roughly six weeks after its initial launch.
