Azerbaijan Extradites "Anar007" From Georgia in iGaming Case

Georgian authorities detained and extradited Anar Islam oglu Aliyev, known online as "Anar007," to Azerbaijan along with six members of his team, Azerbaijan's Ministry of Internal Affairs announced on August 19, 2026. Aliyev had been wanted in connection with operating illegal offshore iGaming products, including a brand called Martin and other platforms linked to chc(.)play, targeting the Azerbaijani market.

The arrest resulted from a joint operation between Azerbaijani cyber police and Georgian law enforcement authorities. The Ministry did not specify the exact date of the physical detention, only confirming that details of the operation were published on August 19. According to investigators, Aliyev organized a group that based its members in Tbilisi and other Georgian cities, running online casino and betting operations remotely from there. Also detained in connection with the case were Ashraf Hasanzade, Seymur Nurullayev, Etibar Sultanov, Rashad Rzazade, Shargin Aliyev, and Anar Suraj oglu Aliyev. Investigators allege the group's members supplied SIM cards, bank cards, and technical equipment, cashed out proceeds from the online casino operations, and transferred funds using cryptocurrency. A court ordered Anar Aliyev and Shargin Aliyev held in pretrial detention.

The case illustrates continued cross-border cooperation between Azerbaijani and Georgian authorities in pursuing operators of unlicensed gambling platforms targeting Azerbaijani players, with the extradition marking a notable enforcement action against an offshore operation allegedly run from neighboring Georgian territory.
