Ontario's regulated online gambling market recorded a new historical high in July, with total wagering volume rising 4% month-over-month to $7.02 billion, according to a report by Casino.org.
Unadjusted gross gaming revenue (NAGGR) for operators grew 3% during the month to $293.9 million. The number of active player accounts increased 3% to 1.365 million, while average revenue per active account held steady at $215. Online casino remained the primary growth driver, accounting for 89% of total market volume and growing 6% month-over-month to $6.24 billion, with NAGGR revenue reaching $234.4 million, up 4%. Sports betting volume fell 4% to $704 million, representing roughly 10% of the market, with revenue of $55.1 million, down 1%, though the 2026 World Cup contributed to overall market growth during the period. P2P poker volume declined 8% to $82 million, about 1% of the market, while its NAGGR revenue rose 3% to $3.8 million. By the end of July, 48 licensed operators and 83 gambling sites were officially active in the province.
The record figures build on Ontario's already dominant position in Canada's regulated iGaming landscape, where the province accounts for approximately 73% of the country's total legal market, reinforcing its role as the primary driver of national online gambling growth as player accounts and wagering volumes continue expanding month over month.
