Denmark Court Orders Block of 98 Unlicensed iGaming Sites

The Frederiksberg court in Denmark granted a request from regulator Spillemyndigheden to block 98 unlicensed iGaming sites targeting Danish players. The blocked platforms include prediction market Polymarket, crypto casino Hash Lucky, and brands such as Leon, 22Bet, Dafa888, Everygame, Ice Casino, iWild Casino, Mr Bet, Cosmobet, and Velobet.

Under Denmark's enforcement procedure, Spillemyndigheden first requests that an operator cease activity in the local market. If the operator does not comply, the regulator requests internet service providers block access to the site, backed by a court order requiring providers to disable the site at the DNS level. This process was applied uniformly across all 98 platforms named in the current ruling.

The inclusion of both traditional gambling brands and a prediction market platform in the same enforcement action indicates Danish regulators are treating prediction markets under comparable scrutiny to conventional betting and casino operators when assessing unlicensed activity targeting local users. As enforcement actions of this scale become more routine, operators without Danish licensing face an established, court-backed process that can result in relatively swift DNS-level blocking once local targeting is established.
