Dutch streamer Martin Hummel played online poker for 76 consecutive hours, surpassing the duration of the current world record, according to a report by Casinonieuws.nl. Hummel began the attempt on August 14 with an initial target of 72 hours. Guinness World Records has not yet reviewed the result, meaning the official record of 49 hours, held by Spain's Sergio Garcia since 2023, remains in place pending verification.

Throughout the marathon, Hummel streamed live on his Twitch channel, ppmh00, with outside observers occasionally appearing on camera to monitor the attempt. This was not Hummel's first record bid: he previously set two Guinness-recognized records, playing online poker for 48 hours in 2021 and spending more than 71 hours at a roulette table in 2023.

The attempt adds to a pattern of extended-duration gambling marathons used by streamers to generate audience engagement and platform visibility, with such feats often serving as promotional content for the streaming channels involved. Whether Guinness World Records ultimately certifies the 76-hour session will determine if Hummel secures a third recognized record, though the unverified result already exceeds the current benchmark by 27 hours based on his reported playing time.
