Argentina's tax revenue from its online casino and betting market reached $70.5 million between January and August 2026, according to a report by SiGMA World.
In August alone, the government collected $11.2 million, a slight decrease from July's $11.8 million. The tax is calculated based on player deposits and varies depending on the operator's registration status: registered local operators pay 5%, or a reduced 2.5% if they meet certain conditions, including investments exceeding $132,000 and specific employment requirements. Unregistered Argentine operators face a 7.5% rate, while foreign companies pay 10%, and operators based in low-tax or non-cooperative jurisdictions face rates of up to 15%.
The tiered tax structure appears designed to incentivize operator registration and local investment within Argentina's regulated market, with lower rates reserved for compliant domestic operators and progressively higher rates applied to unregistered or offshore entities. The slight month-over-month dip in August revenue, following July's figure, suggests overall collections have remained relatively stable in recent months despite the ongoing tiered incentive structure.
