Australia’s communications regulator (ACMA) has ordered the blocking of eight illegal gambling websites.
The decision was announced on February 13.
🚫 Operators Blocked
The following brands were targeted:
- Lucky Mate
- Vegastars
- Wombet
- Cosmobet
- Fortune Play
- Fortunica
- Rolletto
- Velobet
According to ACMA, the sites were operating in breach of Australia’s Interactive Gambling Act.
Ongoing Enforcement
Website blocking remains one of the regulator’s primary enforcement tools against offshore operators offering services to Australian players.
ACMA continues to monitor the market and warns consumers to use only licensed providers.
Further blocking actions are expected as part of Australia’s ongoing crackdown on illegal online gambling.
