(AGCO) has issued the first-ever suspension order in the province’s regulated market.
On February 12, AGCO ruled that

will be barred from operating in Ontario for five days.
Failure to Report Suspicious Bets
The suspension relates to the operator’s failure to detect and report suspicious betting activity.
The bets were allegedly connected to a major match-fixing scheme involving former NBA player

in 2024.
According to AGCO, PointsBet initially stated that it had not accepted such wagers.
Later, the operator confirmed that the bets had indeed been placed.
Right to Appeal
PointsBet has 15 days to appeal the decision.
The case marks a significant precedent for Ontario’s regulated gambling market and signals a stricter enforcement approach toward compliance failures.
