Australia’s gambling regulator, the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), concluded investigations on 29 January into six betting operators for violations of the national self-exclusion framework BetStop.
According to the regulator, Tabcorp, LightningBet, Betfocus, TempleBet, Picklebet, and BetChamps were found to have breached self-exclusion rules during 2024. Players listed on the BetStop national register were reportedly able to open new accounts, place bets, and receive marketing communications, despite being self-excluded.
