The CGA has postponed portal filing deadlines until its online system returns, while stressing that existing licences, operator obligations and regulatory oversight remain fully in force.
The Curaçao Gaming Authority has confirmed that its online gaming portal remains offline, but said the outage does not affect the validity of existing licences or its ability to supervise the market.
In an updated notice published on October 2, the regulator said licensed operators remain subject to all existing regulatory and compliance obligations while the portal is unavailable.
The CGA has not announced when access to the system will be restored.
Portal Filing Deadlines Have Been Postponed
Deadlines for documents that must normally be submitted through the CGA portal have been postponed until the system becomes available again.
The regulator said revised submission deadlines will be communicated later.
This means operators will not be expected to meet portal-specific filing dates while they are technically unable to upload the required documentation.
However, the suspension applies to submission deadlines rather than operators' wider regulatory responsibilities. The CGA stressed that licence conditions and ongoing compliance requirements remain in force.
The portal is normally used for functions including licence applications and regulatory submissions from online gaming businesses.
CGA Tells Operators Not to Email Portal Documents
The regulator has also instructed operators not to send documents intended for the portal to its licensing email address while the outage continues.
According to the CGA, those submissions cannot currently be processed through alternative channels.
Operators will therefore need to retain the relevant documentation until the authority restores the portal or provides a different submission procedure.
The instruction is intended to prevent companies from attempting to bypass the unavailable system by sending regulatory filings directly by email.
Existing Curaçao Licences Remain Valid
The CGA specifically clarified that the portal outage has no effect on licences that have already been issued.
Its regulatory, supervisory and compliance functions also continue despite the technical disruption.
This distinction is important for operators relying on Curaçao licences because the unavailability of the administrative system does not suspend their authorisation or relieve them of obligations under the National Ordinance on Games of Chance.
The regulator said it is actively addressing the situation and will provide further updates when significant developments occur.
CGA Has Not Disclosed Cause of Outage
The authority has not publicly explained why the portal was taken offline.
The disruption follows a separate cybersecurity incident disclosed by the CGA in September, when the regulator confirmed unauthorised access to the customer-facing section of its licensing portal.
The CGA said access had been obtained through an account registered under a false identity and had continued from December 2025 until it was detected in September 2026.
The authority subsequently introduced additional security measures and software upgrades while continuing its investigation.
However, the CGA has not stated that the current portal outage was caused by that incident, so the two developments cannot be directly linked based on the information published to date.
For licensees, the immediate position remains unchanged: existing licences continue to operate, compliance obligations remain active, and portal-related filing deadlines are temporarily suspended until the system returns.
