The new platform uses optional side bets to fund tournament prize pools across slots, live casino and sports, removing the need for operators to finance prizes directly.
ThrillTech has launched ThrillArena, a new tournament platform that uses player-funded side bets instead of operator-funded prize pools.
The product covers slots, live casino and sports betting, with players choosing whether to make an additional side bet to participate. Money contributed through those side bets funds the tournament prizes.
ThrillTech positions the model as an alternative to conventional tournaments, where operators normally allocate their own promotional budget to prizes.
ThrillArena Covers Casino, Live and Sports
ThrillArena combines three verticals within one platform: SlotsArena, LiveArena and SportsArena.
Participation is optional. Players who want to enter a tournament make a side bet alongside their normal gaming activity, while the underlying casino game, live casino session or sports wager remains separate.
ThrillTech describes the prize structure as 100% player-funded, meaning operators do not need to contribute directly to the prize pool.
At the same time, the supplier says the side-bet model can generate incremental revenue for operators. This changes the commercial logic of tournaments from a promotional cost into a product that can also produce revenue.
The company has not publicly disclosed a standard operator margin for ThrillArena, with the commercial configuration expected to depend on individual deployments.
Points System Allows Late Players to Compete
ThrillArena uses ThrillTech's proprietary points engine to determine tournament rankings.
Scoring can incorporate multiple factors rather than relying solely on the amount wagered. According to the supplier, the system is designed so that players joining after a tournament has started still have an opportunity to move up the leaderboard.
Operators can configure daily and weekly payouts, while monthly seasons provide a longer competition cycle for more active participants.
The platform also includes Battle Mode, which introduces limited player-versus-player competitions. Participants can challenge each other, collect points and improve their leaderboard positions.
ThrillTech plans to demonstrate ThrillArena publicly for the first time at SBC Summit Lisbon 2026.
ThrillArena Builds on ThrillPots Side Bets
The underlying side-bet concept is not new for ThrillTech.
ThrillArena is the company's second major product based around the mechanic, following its ThrillPots jackpot engine.
ThrillPots allows players to make optional additional bets that contribute to jackpot pools while they continue playing the underlying game. ThrillArena applies a similar funding concept to tournament competitions rather than jackpots.
Other gaming suppliers have also experimented with side-bet-funded jackpot mechanics, showing growing interest in products that sit above existing casino content without requiring changes to the core game.
The difference with ThrillArena is that ThrillTech is extending the model across several verticals and connecting player contributions directly to recurring tournament prize pools.
For operators, the proposition is primarily financial as well as engagement-focused. Traditional tournaments generally require a predetermined marketing budget, while a player-funded structure can allow the prize pool to scale with participation.
The commercial performance will ultimately depend on how many players choose to make the additional side bets and how operators configure individual tournaments.
