Australian influencer Amir Khawatt, known online as FaZe Nighthawk, said he was offered approximately $14,100 to promote an unnamed online casino, according to a report by 7NEWS. The proposed video was meant to show a win of roughly $1,770 from a deposit of about $106.
Rather than declining outright, Khawatt said he feigned interest in the offer and later published his correspondence with a Polish representative of the brand to publicly expose the arrangement. According to screenshots he released, the representative asked him not to present the video as an advertisement, but instead to make it appear as though he had stumbled onto the site by chance and won. When asked why the company specifically wanted access to an Australian audience, the representative reportedly replied that Australian players generate the highest profits for the operator.
The case highlights ongoing concerns around undisclosed gambling advertising targeting Australian audiences through social media influencers, a practice that circumvents the country's advertising restrictions on regulated betting promotion. By publicizing the exchange rather than accepting the deal, Khawatt drew public attention to tactics used by unlicensed operators to disguise paid promotions as organic content, a method regulators and consumer advocates have flagged as a growing challenge to enforcement in markets with strict gambling marketing rules.
