Brazilian regulators fined Pixbet Solutions Tecnológicas, the company behind betting brand Pixbet, €136,440 for violating regulatory requirements, according to a report by iGaming Express. The notice was published in the country's official gazette on August 31, giving the company 10 days to pay the fine or file an appeal.
According to the published document, regulatory officials were unable to locate the company at the address registered with the Undersecretariat for Sanctions. If Pixbet fails to respond within the given timeframe, the outstanding amount may be forwarded to Brazil's federal debt registry, Dívida Ativa da União. The fine was issued under Law No. 14,790/2023, which governs betting operations in Brazil.
The penalty follows earlier reports that Pixbet was considering selling its brand amid an ongoing Federal Police investigation, adding to a broader pattern of regulatory and legal pressure facing the operator this year. The company's apparent absence from its registered business address raises additional questions about its current operational status as it navigates mounting compliance and legal challenges in the Brazilian market.
