Genius Sports Supplies Official NFL Data to X’s NFL Gametime

The partnership brings live scores and play-by-play statistics into X’s dedicated football experience, although the companies have not disclosed when the data integration began.

Genius Sports announced on October 15, 2026, that it is supplying official NFL data to NFL Gametime on X. The arrangement connects live scores, game statistics and play-by-play information with the platform’s existing football news, clips and creator commentary.

The announcement identifies Genius Sports’ role within NFL Gametime rather than marking the launch of the section itself. It does not specify when the data connection became operational or disclose the agreement’s financial terms.

NFL Gametime brings match information and related conversation into a dedicated experience alongside X’s For You and Following tabs. Users can follow developments on the field while viewing reporting, highlights and reactions in the same destination.

The scope of the announcement is specifically NFL data for this product. It does not establish that Genius Sports has become the exclusive supplier of every sport’s statistics across X.

Official Statistics Sit Alongside Football Content

The collaboration combines structured match data with the posts and video already distributed through X. Official scores and play-by-play updates provide a factual reference point alongside commentary from publishers, creators and fans.

Monique Pintarelli, head of global advertising at X, linked the integration to both following games and giving brands a presence around live sporting moments. Genius Sports CEO Mark Locke described it as an expansion of the company’s reach within the NFL’s media ecosystem.

Covers, which is owned by Genius Sports, describes NFL Gametime as having two complementary elements. NFL Timeline groups news, highlights, creator commentary and fan reactions, while the Gametime Hub adds official league data to that experience.

That structure places the supply agreement within a broader content product. Genius Sports provides the official data layer, while X supplies the distribution environment and surrounding conversation.

NFL Rights Connect Betting, Media and Advertising

The X arrangement builds on Genius Sports’ existing NFL relationship, which began in 2021. Under an extension announced in June 2025, that partnership runs through the end of the 2029 NFL season.

Genius Sports remains the exclusive distributor of the league’s official real-time play-by-play statistics, Next Gen Stats data and official sports betting feed to media companies and betting operators globally. The wider agreement also covers sportsbook streaming and advertising opportunities.

Next Gen Stats adds tracking-based information beyond conventional scores. Genius Sports describes the data as covering player movement, including speed, acceleration and location, supporting metrics such as completion probability and rushing efficiency. The X announcement does not specify which individual advanced metrics NFL Gametime will display.

For the iGaming industry, the documented connection is the use of the same official sports-data rights across betting and media distribution. The October announcement adds X’s football experience to that distribution network, with commercial value and integration timing undisclosed.
