Licensed operators will be able to promote online casino games, sports betting and lotteries after obtaining country-specific gambling certification from Google.

Google will allow licensed gambling operators to advertise online casino games, sports betting and lotteries in Slovenia from October 1, 2026.
The company announced the change on September 16 as part of an update to its country-specific Google Ads Gambling and Games policy.
Operators will need a valid gambling concession issued by the Government of the Republic of Slovenia and must be registered with the country's Ministry of Finance.
Holding the required Slovenian authorisation will not automatically provide access to Google Ads. Gambling companies must also apply to Google for certification before they can run campaigns targeting users in Slovenia.
Google's updated list of permitted online gambling products for Slovenia covers lotteries, sports betting and online casino games.
The change gives locally authorised betting and casino operators access to one of the industry's largest paid digital acquisition channels, subject to Google's wider gambling advertising requirements and approval process.
Only operators that satisfy the Slovenian licensing conditions can qualify for the country-specific certification. Offshore gambling companies without a valid government concession therefore do not meet the eligibility requirements set out by Google.
Google said its Gambling and Games policy page will be updated when the new rules take effect on October 1.
The Slovenia change forms part of Google's country-by-country approach to gambling advertising. Eligibility depends on both local gambling law and Google's own certification requirements, meaning operators must satisfy regulatory and platform-level conditions before advertising can begin.
