Sports prediction market Novig has released the second advertisement in its "Just Sports" campaign featuring American actress Sydney Sweeney.
The new commercial continues the provocative approach of the campaign launched in September. Sweeney appears topless while using her hair and footballs to cover her chest and wears Novig-branded underwear.
This time, however, the creative focuses more directly on distinguishing Novig from prediction platforms that offer contracts outside sports.
Sweeney is not only the face of the campaign. She joined Novig as a strategic partner and equity holder when the partnership was announced.
The commercial opens with Sweeney joking about people creating spreadsheets to predict the colour of her underwear.
It then turns to more controversial prediction market categories, referring to insider trading around the deaths of dictators, armies of bots manipulating markets and people risking retirement savings on contracts connected with wars.
The closing message contrasts those examples with users who "just trade on sports", reinforcing Novig's positioning as a sports-focused prediction platform.
Novig does not identify any competing operator by name in the commercial.
The references to insider trading and bot manipulation are advertising claims made by Novig rather than findings established in the commercial through regulatory cases or supporting data.
The strategy centres on one of the clearest differences between Novig and larger event-market competitors.
Novig restricts its product to sports, while several major prediction market platforms also offer contracts covering politics, economics, entertainment, international conflicts and other real-world events.
The campaign turns that narrower product range into the central brand proposition.
Its September launch used the same "Just Sports" message, with Sweeney appearing behind different pieces of sporting equipment while the commercial stressed that Novig does not offer markets on war, death or politics.
The second instalment makes the criticism of the wider prediction market sector more explicit.
Novig's initial Sweeney campaign attracted significant attention but also criticism from some female athletes and commentators over its use of sexualised imagery in sports marketing.
The company has not responded by moderating the concept.
Instead, the second advertisement deliberately references the attention surrounding Sweeney's appearance and again uses nudity as part of the creative.
That approach gives Novig a relatively distinctive marketing position at a time when prediction market companies are competing for mainstream recognition and customer acquisition.
Rather than promoting individual contracts or trading features, the campaign attempts to define Novig through what it does not offer.
For the company, "Just Sports" is therefore both an advertising slogan and a product differentiation strategy as competition across the US prediction market sector intensifies.
